This freeway stub is located on the east side approach of the Marquam bridge. It was to be an on-ramp of some type. The question is: where was this ramp bringing traffic from? MLK? The Morrison bridge? SE industrial area? In 1987, the city did a study about an East Bank/Water Ave on ramp that would have linked with this ramp. Unsure about it's original purpose when the bridge was built back in the 1960's.

The unused ramp below used to carry traffic from the Steel bridge onto eastbound I-84. It was opened in the mid 1970's and the connecting ramp was demolished in 1990. It was closed due to merging and congestion problems.
Grand Ave Viaduct Exit Stub
BELOW: A leg from Grand Avenue, when this was built in 1965, the Mt. Hood freeway was still green lighted. This was to connect northbound traffic to the Mt. Hood freeway. This ramp has disappeared since the viaduct improvements in recent years.
This particular ramp was to connect West Bound traffic from the Mt. Hood Freeway to the Marquam Bridge to then connect to I-405 and US 26.
